The organization, operating under the name Watoto Wetu (Our Children ⇔ Our Gift) is a non-profit organization created for the development in education for poor, homeless children in the region of Njombe, Tanzania, Africa.

Get Involved

Many children are turned away from schools in Tanzania because their parents are penniless. However; no child is ever turned away by the Bishop of Njombe. Your gift of $200 will ensure a child is clothed, housed, fed, given medical care and receives a quality education for Six Whole Months.

The organization, operating under the name Watoto Wetu (Our Children ⇔ Our Gift) is a non-profit organization created for the development of education for poor, homeless children in the region of Njombe, Tanzania, Africa.

We aim to inspire, nurture, motivate, and foster self-esteem, leadership, resolve and compassion among the youth living in the Dioceses of Njombe, in Tanzania through Education in the spirit of Christ. — Father Bruno Henjewele

Njombe lies in the South of Tanzania, where unemployment is extremely high and most people farm on a subsistence level. Parents pray and hope that by educating their children, they will break out of the cycle of poverty. However, they lack even the most basic needs and certainly cannot pay for clothing, food, health care, or school fees. Many children are orphans of the AID’S epidemic, and find a home and education through Watoto Wetu. The Bishop of Njombe is committed to improving the quality of life of all children in the area.
