Fr. Bruno Henjewele was born at Lukuyusi village, Ludewa district-Tanzania. His parents are peasants living at Lukuyusi a small village located along lake Nyasa. His family had six brothers and one sister Illuminata, unfortunately in 2008 and 2013 two of his brothers died.
Fr.Bruno was enrolled to primary school education in 1982 and finished his standard seven in 1988. His school was located far away from his little village, it took him three hours to go to school canoeing daily, three hours in the morning and three hours back in the late afternoon.
In 1990- 1993, he joined Mafinga Junior Seminary as a candidate for priesthood, being at the Seminary his fellow seminarians elected him as their assistant head Prefect. In 1994 -1996, he was transferred to Kasita Seminary, Diocese of mahenge for advanced level studies.
From 1997 to 2003, he was attending his Philosophical and Theological studies at St. Augustine Major Seminary-Peramiho- Tanzania. He received his Bachelor of Sacred Theology in 2004 and ordained priest in June 24 2004.
After his ordination, he worked as the assistant director of youth and Children ministry, Director of the Catechetical office and from July 2007 – July 2013, he has been working as the Director of Education Office in the Diocese, he involved himself in building schools (Primary and secondary schools) for the vulnerable children and youth of the Diocese.
In August 2013, Fr. Bruno got a scholarship from World Learning, SIT Graduate Institute-Vermont for studying masters in inter-cultural services, Leadership and management.
The organization, operating under the name Watoto Wetu (Our Children ⇔ Our Gift) is a non-profit organization created for the development in education for poor, homeless children in the region of Njombe, Tanzania, Africa.
